The City of West Hollywood celebrates pride in 2017 with the festival theme “Go West” for its One City One Pride LGBTQ Arts Festival. One City One Pride comprises mostly free interactive, performing, and visual arts events between May 22 (Harvey Milk Day) through the end of June Pride month.
The highlights of One City One Pride this year are:
May 22 – June 9: A series of free artist-led protest signmaking workshops leading up to the #ResistMarch on March 11.
June 3: A full Day of History with multiple events including a tour of West Hollywood originally written by the late Stuart Timmons, co-author of “Gay LA” (tours leave every 15 minutes from 11am-1pm)
June 29: The world premiere of Jeanne Cordova: Butches, Lies and Feminism , a new documentary about the accomplishments of activist and author.
One City One Pride is organized by the City of West Hollywood through WeHo Arts (the City’s Arts & Cultural Affairs Commission and Arts Division) with input from the City’s Lesbian & Gay Advisory Board, Transgender Advisory Board, and other community partners.
