Like so many people, composer Craig Hella Johnson was deeply moved and affected by the death of a young gay Wyoming man in 1998, Matthew Shepard. The events surrounding his death 20 years ago created an enormous worldwide outpouring of grief and sense of injustice that continues to reverberate today.
Grammy Award-winning Craig Hella Johnson and Conspirare choir members will share the story behind creating the work that became the Grammy-nominated master work “Considering Matthew Shepard” in this intimate evening of song and conversation.
Presented in partnership with the Ford Theatres and Chris Isaacson Presents. The keyboard for the event is donated by Studio Instrumental Rentals (SIR) Entertainment Services.
Hosted by local favorites, duo Sam Pancake & Roz Drezfalez!
